As a former teacher who battled her weight through nearly 2 decades, Erica discovered her love of running while working in the fitness and weight loss industry. Her background in education naturally leant itself to coaching, and she began mentoring new runners almost immediately. Her beginner running program, Cross the Line, successfully saw new runners of all ages and physical abilities complete their first 5Ks, many of them going on to run 10K, half marathons and marathons, and even some ultra-marathons. Erica considers watching these athletes develop a love of running and pursuing their goals often to be more satisfying than her own racing accomplishments.
In the 10 plus years Erica has been a mid-life runner, she has climbed to the top of the pack in age group running. She considers her greatest athletic achievements to be qualifying for the Boston Marathon (twice) and completing Ironman Arizona in 2018. On the road to those bucket list races, there were many steppingstones along the way. Erica continues to race distances from 5K to Marathon, Sprint Triathlon to Ironman, and very much enjoys assisting others on their journeys as well. “I always race my best, when my training has been peppered with training buddies to make the experience fun.” This fun training buddy philosophy factors heavily into every group training Erica coaches.
